KARA sold the biggest number of albums in Japan




Recently, Kara beat SNSD and became known as the group having sold the biggest number of DVD in Japan as a foreign singer.

On November 21, the record magazine Oristar reported that the sales of Kara’s Live DVD titled “Kara 1st Japan Tour 2012 Karasia” which was released on November 14 exceeded 30,000 copies in just one week. It is now ranking at the top of the DVD sales chart on the November 27 Oricon weekly.

It also reported, “SNSD and Kara each won the top ranking on the DVD sales chart twice, but this time, Kara beat SNSD. Kara is now staying at the top exclusively, as a foreign female artist.”

In February of 2011 and 2012, Kara released “Kara Best Clips” and “Kara Best Clips 2 & Shows” and both DVDs ranked at the top of DVD sales chart in Oricon weekly.

According to Oristar, the blue ray version of Kara’s Live DVD which was released on the same day as the original one sold over 14,000 copies in just a week since the release. It got second ranking on the overall blue ray sales chart on Oricon weekly and the first on music blue ray chart.

Kara’s another album Girls Forever which was released on November 14 also ranked second in the Oricon weekly which will be issued on November 26.

SHINee and KARA achieve Gold certification in Japan



Groups SHINee and KARA both impressed when they achieved the Gold Certification in Japan.
On November 12th, according to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), SHINee’s “Dazzling Girl” was certified Gold for exceptional sales. Produced by Jeff Miyahara, “Dazzling Girl” shipped more than 100,000 albums and placed second on the Oricon Weekly Chart.
KARA’s “Electric Boy” also did extremely well, selling over 100,000 albums and also achieving Gold status. Each of KARA’s singles in Japan have been huge hits, as “Electric Boy” proved that by selling 57,942 albums in the first week of sales, also placing second on the Oricon Weekly Chart.

[NEWS]KARA maintains high rank on Oricon Weekly Chart with “Electric Boy”

KARA have been maintaining their popularity in Japan with their recent single “Electric Boy“.
According to the Oricon Weekly Chart, ”Electric Boy” ranked #1 on the day of its release on October 17 and sold around 57,000 copies during the first week. It is currently keeping its place in the top five on the chart with its #2 position.
“Electric Boy” also took first on Recochoku, a popular mobile music chart.
In related news, KARA has been flying back and forth from Korea to Japan in order to promote in both countries

Oricon reveals just how much money acts made in the first half of 2011!

With the end of June rapidly approaching, the first half of 2011 has shockingly come to an end, and Oricon recently disclosed the top selling singles, albums, and DVDs since January 1st. Now they have also disclosed just how much the top acts have made these past six months in monetary terms.

AKB48 has proved to be a giant force in the industry, and have shown no signs of slowing down, as the group made roughly 66.6 billion yen (USD $82.6 million). Arashi also proved to be fierce competition, trailing behind the massive girl group by less than a million.

2. Arashi – 6.59 billion yen (USD $81.7 million)
3. EXILE – 4.68 billion yen (USD $58 million)
4. Amuro Namie – 2.7 billion yen (USD $33.4 million)
5. Shoujo Jidai (SNSD) – 2.6 billion yen (USD $32.2 million)
6. KARA – 2.15 billion yen (USD $26.6 million)

Shoujo Jidai (SNSD) and KARA ranked as the highest foreign selling acts, despite debuting in the tail end of 2010. Shoujo Jidai sold roughly 153,000 copies of their single, “MR. TAXI/Run Devil Run“, and 326,000 copies of their debut Japanese album, “GIRLS’ GENERATION“, just enough to snatch them the lead spot in the foreign artists category.

Tohoshinki (TVXQ) ranks as the foreign act in fourth place, selling 284,000 copies of their single “Why? (Keep Your Head Down)“, while Jang Geun Suk rounds off the top 5 with 186,000 copies of his debut Japanese single, “Let me cry“.

well well, number 6 isn't a bad thing! KARA and SNSD income just slightly different, and I know that KARA only released 1 single and 1 DVD and all of their single sales already donated back to japan people~ so I'm not ashamed with their rank! but I'm really happy! I believe 2nd half year will be better and KARA wave will be back!!
